
Deep sea mining has 'devastating' impact on biodiversity
A landmark report into how deep sea mining could affect biodiversity on the sea floor has found that almost 40% of creatures in the immediate seabed area were lost in the tracks of mining machines.

At the moment there is no international agreement to allow deep sea mining - but earlier this year President Trump signed an Executive Order to speed up licenses for companies to start the process.
