Mazdakism: The Ancient Religion of Shared Property and Radical Ideas
Who were the Mazdakites? ? During the Sasanian Empire, this radical Zoroastrian offshoot, founded by the prophet Mazdak, was seen as a major threat. They were believed to advocate for the common ownership of land and resources, and possibly polyamory, though this comes from hostile sources. Despite having an imperial sponsor at one point, the faith was ultimately suppressed and Mazdak was executed. However, their influence lived on in later movements like Khurramism. #Mazdakites #AncientHistory #HistoryShorts #CHRISTOS #Zoroastrianism #SasanianEmpire #ReligiousHistory #PersianHistory #HistoricalFacts #CommunistHistory #AncientReligions #RadicalPolitics #HistoricalMovements #KavadI
