Scientists were shocked to find that one species of ant is CLONING another all on its own.
At some point, the Iberian Harvester ant species lost the ability to make its own sterile worker ants. To solve that problem, they started mating with another species, Messer structor, to create hybrid workers. This made them reliant on another species for survival, which isn’t ideal.
