Black Phone 2 Review
To the surprise of NO ONE, 2021's sneak-up horror hit The Black Phone got a sequel. Black Phone 2 finds the traumatized siblings, Finney and Gwen at a frost-bitten and remote campground when Ethan Hawke as the Grabber finds his way back to terrorizing the pair. Director Scott Derrickson and co-writer C. Robert Cargill are returning, as are Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw as the two leads, but can that kind of continuity in the creative team keep Black Phone 2 from "horror sequel purgatory?" Or will it fall victim the curse of the cash-grabbing follow up in spite of a very Freddy Krueger like turn from the now paranormal Ethan Hawke villain?
