High Knees - Form Review with Common Mistakes
Hey folks, it’s Tasha, just giving you a quick form review and going over some common mistakes that you see during high knees — a move that we see in a lot of HIIT and cardio workouts. https://gofb.info/BodyweightCardioPyramid
Mistake number one is leaning too far forward, not giving your hip flexors enough space to contract and pull your knees up toward your hips. The pelvis is tilted too far forward.
Mistake number two is leaning too far back. The pelvis is tilted back as well, arms are flailing, and it’s really hard to control. Knees are coming up past hip height, and this puts a lot of pressure on your lower back — it does not feel good.
To make things better, tuck your pelvis ever so slightly and start with marching, bringing your knees up to hip height. When ready, progress to an A-skip, and then finally put it all together for the high knees that we’ve come to know, love, and anticipate.
So there you have it — a super quick review on a super common move. I hope I get to see you in my new cardio pyramid-style workout. See you soon!
