The United Nations Security Council did not adopt a draft resolution seeking to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping.
There were 11 votes in favor, two votes against and two abstentions.
Russia and China both voted against the resolution. The nations are permanent members of the Security Council and hold veto power, meaning the resolution will not be adopted.
