You’re Coiling Cables WRONG (Do This Instead)

Tangled cables ruin sessions fast. In this video I show you how to coil audio cables the right way so they stay flat, don’t twist, and don’t turn into knots. If you use XLR cables, jack leads, guitar cables, patch cables or extension leads in a studio or on stage, this is a simple habit that helps your cables last longer.
You’ll see why the “wrong” coiling methods add twist and tension into the cable jacket over time, and I’ll teach you an easy technique (over-under style) that removes tension as you coil. I also show a quick way to finish the coil neatly with a cheap cable tie, so you can grab it later and it uncoils cleanly.
Leave a comment: how do you coil your cables, and have you got a better method?
