A Late Season Curveball, but Nothing We Can't Handle. A Broken Expedition Truck.
It is often difficult not to get discouraged when life gives you challenges, but with each obstacle overcome you become more capable to handle greater challenges in the future.
This will be the second year in a row I am pulling the transmission out of the rig, but I suppose it is still better than the two years in a row I had to dismantle the engine.
This particular transmission issue is unlike any I have heard of in the past. The NV4500 transmission is very tough, but it does have its flaws. Fifth gear does not have a perfect design from the factory, and will often unthread its self, but this does have an upgrade that eliminates the problem. The gap between third and fourth gear is much longer that any other gear separation, and third gear will occasionally break because of bad shifting under power. My transmission is showing issues only in first and second gear, and only when the engine is braking.
The timing is certainly not ideal, but I sure am happy to have the reach of the channel and the support of the audience. Destination Adventure is only as good as it is because of the contribution from the views and supporters. I will get the old girl fixed up and ready for adventures here very soon, and we will be back on the road exploring again.
My sincerest apologies for the quick break, but I appreciate the understanding tremendously.
