Encounters with ‘Eternal Presence’
John Wilson’s "Eternal Presence"—affectionately known by locals as the “Big Head”—was commissioned by the National Center of Afro-American Artists and installed on its grounds in 1987. The sculpture has since become a cornerstone of the Roxbury community and a “must see" in Boston. In this video, hear stories from some of the many people who have encountered the sculpture and have been impacted by it, from Roxbury and beyond.
