CIA Director John Ratcliffe said Monday that his agency executed a "deception campaign" to help rescue the downed F-15E Strike Eagle crew member who was shot down in Iranian airspace and hid in a "mountain crevice" before being brought back by US forces.
Ratcliffe told reporters at a White House briefing that the CIA effort helped "confuse the Iranians who were desperately hunting for our airman."
