Hamas accepts ceasefire plan as Israel pushes forward with Gaza City assault

Hamas has agreed to an Egyptian and Qatari proposal for a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, which will see Palestinian prisoners released in return for half the Israeli hostages.

It comes as Israel prepares to step up the war and seize Gaza City - a plan that has sparked mass demonstrations.
