Mixing 2 tablespoons of chia seeds with milk and soaking overnight, is an excellent and simple recipe to improve gut health and strengthen the body. The mucilaginous fiber gel feeds friendly microbes in the gut which improves energy levels all day long, supports digestion and has other long term benefits.
Chia seeds have a reputation for having high omega 3-s, however the truth is, they only have ALA, which is poorly converted to the active form (less than 5%). They DO have plant protein ideal for a plant based diet, but this is not the complete protein needed for muscle growth and repair.
