✎ To reach your big goals, you have to learn how to sharpen your axe before you start chopping. In this video, we talk about how to become a learning machine so you can grow your business and your life. Many people stay stuck because they use old ways of studying that do not work. I share my own story of struggling in school with a hearing problem and how I turned things around to get straight A pluses. You will learn about famous people like Abraham Lincoln and what they said about preparation. We also look at the science from experts like Dr. Matthew Walker and Dr. Carol Dwek to show you how your brain really works.
✎ There are seven main secrets in this video to help you learn faster and remember more. First, you should test yourself instead of just reading your notes over and over. This is called active recall and it helps your brain stay sharp. Second, you should space out your learning instead of trying to learn everything in one night. I tell a story about how I learned to snowboard with my wife Nina by practicing a little bit every day. Third, you must get enough sleep because that is when your brain saves what you learned. Fourth, you should focus on just one thing at a time and stop multitasking.
✎ The last few steps are all about your mindset and taking action. You need to have a growth mindset and be okay with being bad at something when you first start. I talk about how my first 350 YouTube videos were not very good, but I kept going until I reached 700 videos and felt proud. Another great trick is to teach what you learn to someone else right away. This helps the information stick to your brain like glue. Finally, you have to take action and do the work. Watching and reading is not enough; you have to get out there and try it yourself to truly understand.
