NATO Chief Rutte Mocks Russia’s ‘Limping’ Submarine
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte mocked Russia’s navy on Oct. 13, saying a damaged submarine spotted off France was “limping home” — joking it was “more like the hunt for a mechanic” than The Hunt for Red October. The Dutch defense ministry said the Novorossiysk sub was being towed by a tugboat, though Moscow denied any issues. Rutte said the incident shows how far Russia’s military has fallen despite remaining a threat through cyber and espionage activity.
