Donald Trump has turned his fire on the UK, calling the government's plan to hand sovereignty of Diego Garcia in the Chagos islands, to Mauritius, an act of "great stupidity".

The US President, who previously backed the deal said China and Russia will have noticed what he called "this act of total weakness".
The deal would see the UK hand over the islands but pay billions to lease a military base there.
