Operating System Functions 5: User Management & Security
This is the fifth of six short computer science lessons about the functions of an operating system. In this lesson you will learn about user management and security. This includes the benefits of having multiple user profiles on a single computer, thanks to a personal settings file called NTUSER.DAT. It also includes the workings of roaming user profiles on a computer network. In addition, user level access is covered. This can be employed on a computer network to fine control users’ permissions and exactly how they can access to shared resources such as folders and printers.
