Brandon Gill questioned National Museum of American History Director Anthea Hartig during a House Oversight subcommittee hearing over materials he said linked "objectivity" and "politeness" to "white supremacy culture." Hartig said the Smithsonian did not create the cited diversity toolkit and maintained that the museum is objective, nonpartisan, and guided by scholarship.
