The Vatican has excommunicated two bishops and four newly ordained bishops from the breakaway Society of St. Pius X after they took part in unauthorized bishop ordinations in Switzerland without papal approval. Church officials said those involved are no longer in communion with the Catholic Church following the July 1 ceremony.
