Mass Protests Erupt in Albania Over Kushner Resort Plan
Thousands of protesters gathered in Tirana, Albania, in the largest demonstration yet against a proposed luxury resort backed by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of President Trump. The $5 billion project, planned near a protected wetland home to flamingos, seals, and sea turtle nesting sites, has sparked backlash over environmental concerns and transparency issues. Demonstrators chanted “Albania is not for sale” as they marched toward Prime Minister Edi Rama’s office, while the government maintains the development will proceed responsibly despite ongoing public opposition.
