Pope Leo embarks on Latin American papal trip three weeks after surgery

Pope Leo is kicking off a three-nation tour of Latin America on Friday three weeks after undergoing lung cancer surgery that had put the entire trip into question.

His first stop will be Uruguay, then Argentina, home of the late Pope Francis, and finally Peru, where Pope Leo served as a missionary priest and bishop for two decades.
