How SoFi deleted a million lines of code switching to Flutter
As an all-in-one financial super app, SoFi has nearly 15 million members depending on them to deliver a seamless, reliable experience. To eliminate the need for separate teams and redundant codebases, they made the move to Flutter to consolidate into a single codebase. This shift unified their development pipeline and enabled them to ship new features to iOS and Android users significantly faster. By completing the migration to Flutter, SoFi deleted roughly 1 million lines of legacy native code, representing a 60% reduction in overall code size that massively reduced long-term maintenance overhead and code duplication.
