Young Artist Builds a Magical Off-Grid Cabin in the Wilderness
Kayla was just 21 years old when she bought this wild property in the Tasmanian wilderness and began creating a beautiful off-grid life for herself in nature.
But the journey was anything but easy. After owning the land for only 18 months, Kayla lost her first home in a bushfire. With the help of family, friends, and community, she slowly rebuilt, creating this magical cabin from salvaged and recycled materials.
Today, she lives alone off-grid in Tasmania in a home filled with creativity, character, and heart. From rainwater collection and wood heating to a composting toilet, greenhouse shower, and a deeply personal hand-built cabin, this is a truly inspiring example of resilience, simple living, and life lived close to the land.
We hope you enjoy the tour of this magical remote cabin.
From her gorgeous woodland cabin, Kayla has a great little business handcrafting lovely hats. You can find out more about her business here: https://www.instagram.com/wilderway_hats/
