Lizzo Wrote New Music with Self-Love and Self-Expression in Mind
Lizzo says she feels she has "earned the right to write a song that is a little darker," and that her newest album was really about self-love and self-expression. "A lot of times in my process I would (write darker songs for myself,) and then I would scrap those songs and then put, you know, “Good as Hell,” and, you know, uplift everyone ... But this time I was like, no, these songs are going to go to the world, too."
