Why it Took 30 Years for Terranigma to Get a US Release | gamescom 2026
30 years after it originally launched in Japan, Europe, and Australia, classic SNES role-playing game Terranigma is finally coming to North America with a remaster that's been lovingly put together with the help of original artist Kumui Fujiwara. At gamescom 2026, IGN caught up with the project's senior advisor, Martin Lindell, to discuss why it was so important that Terranigma has a NA release, why it's taken so long to happen, and how the remaster delicately rebalances the game to ensure for the best possible adventure.
Terranigma is coming to PS5 and PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, and PC in early 2027.
