Call of the Elder Gods wonderfully captures the otherworldly tone and sense of mystery of its predecessor, which remains a hidden gem of this decade. While its ambitions chip away at feeling as captivating, it's an especially touching sequel to further explore the events of Call of the Sea while still having some rewarding Myst-style puzzle solving to complement a new story that's about finding a sense of closure. Developer Out of the Blue Games' follow-up nails the emotional core of its first-person adventure effort, all while giving its characters and puzzle design time to shine.
