Iran Shuts Down Reports of Spending Released Funds on US Goods
Iran's ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, said that U.S.-Iran peace talks in Switzerland have made good progress, but rejected U.S. claims that unfrozen Iranian assets would be used to purchase American commodities such as corn, soybeans and wheat. Bahreini said Iran alone will decide how to use its released funds and dismissed suggestions that the U.S. or Qatar would have any control over them.
