We’re Missing the Best Place to Find Aliens
We might be missing the best place to find aliens. Because we’re looking wrong.
When we talk about the habitable zone of a solar system it’s defined by one question: can liquid water exist? This is because when searching for life outside of Earth the key concept has always been “look for water” because life as we know it needs water to exist, but what if it didn’t need water? What if it just needed liquid?
Researchers are exploring this concept and found some other contenders. If right, it could completely change what we consider “habitable.”
