AOC Raises Alarm Over Muddy Water Linked to Meta Data Center Construction
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raised concerns during a House subcommittee hearing after visiting residents near the Stanton Springs, Meta data center in Morgan County, Georgia, where families reported discolored well water, sediment damage to appliances, and reliance on bottled water following heavy blasting and land clearing tied to the project. Ocasio-Cortez questioned EPA official Jessica Kramer about possible links between the construction and the water issues. Meta denied impacting groundwater, saying the data center only uses municipal water sources and pointing to an independent study that found no connection to nearby well problems.
