
Meryl Streep on Convincing Anna Wintour to Be on the Cover of Vogue with Her
Meryl Streep initially said no to appearing on the May 2026 cover of Vogue magazine, deciding she would only do it if Condé Nast chief content officer and former Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, appeared alongside her. Streep praised Wintour, calling her "pretty fabulous," and said that she did not take inspiration from Wintour when playing Miranda Priestly, even though Lauren Weisberger, the author of the novel "The Devil Wears Prada," was once Wintour's assistant.
