This is the moment a building crumbled as a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Aug 10. Students from the Catholic University of Manizales are seen looking on from across the street as the building crashes down. The quake, centered near San Jose del Palmar, was the strongest recorded in Colombia in the last decade. Emergency crews and volunteers have been clearing rubble in Pereira as rescue teams searched for people who may have been trapped beneath collapsed structures.
