STOP Fighting Your Bass! ?
We see this one ALL the time! ?‍♂️
Beginners especially will often apply WAY too much pressure with their fretting hand when it simply isn't necessary. It’s a bad habit that’ll eventually affect your groove and tone, especially when your hands start burning like crazy! ?
Something you can try to eradicate this from your playing... When you're warming up play a scale/arpeggio/bass line WITHOUT your thumb on the back of the neck. Once you feel comfortable doing that, bring your thumb to it's usual position on the back of the neck. This helps you find the minimum pressure needed to fret each note cleanly & build a lighter, more relaxed touch. ✌️
