Supporters gathered at Alamein International Airport before cheering the players through the streets on an open-top bus, waving flags, singing patriotic songs and holding signs reading: "You made us proud."
The Pharaohs reached the World Cup knockout stage for the first time in their history before their dramatic 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the last 16.
The Egyptian Football Association has accused FIFA of "fixing" the match and called for an investigation into the refereeing and the use of VAR. FIFA's refereeing chief, Pierluigi Collina, has rejected allegations of bias, saying match officials acted with complete independence.
