Ontario Premier Doug Ford said on August 26, that he is toning down his rhetoric toward President Trump to help Prime Minister Mark Carney restart stalled tariff negotiations. Ford, who recently used heated language against Trump, said both sides appeared to have “simmered down” and called for a return to the negotiating table. Trade talks between the U.S. and Canada broke down last week after three days of negotiations.
