Millions of households will see a steep rise in energy bills in January with an average bill expected to soar by £276.
The forecasters Cornwall Insight are predicting a 16% increase in the energy cap, which would take the annual bill for a typical household to just under £2,000. It would be the biggest quarterly increase for four years.
