Best public speaking advice in 15 seconds
When I started doing public speaking, I'd be so focused on trying to get every beat right, every word memorised, but that was the thing that stuffed me up the most. Instead I shifted to just focusing on locking in the first 3-5 minutes and making sure I did that well. And I found that once I crushed that, the rest felt much easier.
So if you're preparing for a big presentation, of course do your best to rehearse and practice the whole thing, but spend most of the time getting the first 5-10% nailed and the rest will be much easier.
