Fury erupts over video of police arresting dying student Henry Nowak
Protesters gathered in Southampton, UK, on June 2 following the release of body-worn camera footage showing police handcuffing a teenage stabbing victim who later died. Eighteen-year-old Henry Nowak was stabbed five times in December 2025 and later died; his killer, Vickrum Digwa, was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison after falsely claiming he had been the victim of a racist attack, according to the BBC. The footage reportedly shows Nowak telling officers he could not breathe and that he had been stabbed. In response, demonstrators assembled outside Southampton Central Police Station calling for action against Digwa’s family and demanding the resignation of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
