Discover the ancient mysteries of Appalachia as we investigate the Judaculla Rock and Redbird Petroglyph - two enigmatic stones shrouded in legend and history.
Join forensic geologist Scott Walter on a journey through the Appalachian Mountains, uncovering the hidden stories behind these mysterious artifacts. Explore the origins of the Judaculla Rock near Sylva, North Carolina, said to bear the mark of a legendary Cherokee giant, and the Redbird Petroglyph in Kentucky, a massive boulder inscribed with symbols some believe could predate Columbus. Are these carvings the work of Native Americans, Celtic explorers, or something even more extraordinary?
In this video, you'll learn about Cherokee myths, the possibility of ancient Celtic ogam script in America, and the scientific methods used to date and interpret these ancient petroglyphs. Hear from local storytellers and descendants of Chief Redbird as they share tales of giants, star maps, and sacred rituals that have shaped the cultural heritage of Appalachia. Dive deep into forensic geology, rock weathering, and the ongoing debate about pre-Columbian contact. Whether you're fascinated by ancient history, archaeology, or unsolved mysteries, this exploration sheds light on the untold stories etched into the oldest mountains in the world.
