Vance Jokes He Has to 'Screw Up' Briefing to Avoid Becoming Press Secretary

During a White House press briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy jokingly asked JD Vance whether he should be addressed as Vice President or Press Secretary. Vance responded, “I’m not Marco,” referring to Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and joked that President Trump had warned him that if he did the job “too well,” Trump might make him press secretary. Vance added, “I gotta screw up a little bit because I’m busy enough as it is,” drawing laughs from the room.
