ISS cameras captured a greenish, shimmering structure estimated at 3,000 miles wide. No space agency confirmed it. No telescope network reported detecting it. No official explanation has ever been given. That photograph is one point in a series of observations from the ISS, from named astronauts, and from 2,700 days of Palomar Observatory archives — observations that each, individually, could be explained away. Taken together, they raise a question that keeps getting harder to close.
