
UK inflation falls to 2.6% in June as fuel and food prices drop
In a surprise boost to Andy Burnham and his plans to reduce the cost of living, UK inflation fell by more than expected in June, to 2.6%, from 2.8% in May.

Food and fuel prices dropped, partly due to the shaky Iran-US ceasefire bringing down oil prices.
But the latest unrest has driven up the cost of oil again and inflation remains above the Bank of England's target of 2%.
