What's the real difference between a chatbot and an AI agent? A chatbot answers your question and stops. An agent gets a goal and keeps working until it's done, taking a step, checking the result, and moving to the next one entirely on its own.
That loop is the whole distinction, and understanding it is what lets you pick the right agent or harness for the job.
