California’s governor Gavin Newsom dismissed President Donald Trump’s promise to give every American adult $5,000 if Republicans retain control of Congress, calling the payouts “bulls**t” during a September 10 press conference.
Newsom accused Trump of attempting to bribe voters with a promise that could cost the federal government more than $1.2 trillion and would require approval from Congress.
