13 new bathing sites have opened across England, including the first on the River Thames, as the official bathing season begins.
It means 464 sites on coasts, rivers and lakes will undergo regular water quality testing.
Six of the new sites are on rivers, but the Environment Agency currently advises against bathing at many of the existing inland river sites.
