
British Gas agrees to pay out £20 million in compensation
British Gas has agreed to pay 20 million pounds compensation to customers who had prepayment meters installed without their permission.
It was investigated by the regulator Ofgem, after it emerged that debt agents working for the company broke into homes to fit the meters.
British Gas will also write off up to 70 million pounds of energy debt for vulnerable customers.
