In February, the Irish Fiscal Advisory Council warned about Ireland’s reliance on tax receipts from just three multinational companies - two in tech, and one in pharmaceuticals.
By 2024, those firms already accounted for around 46% of Ireland’s corporation tax revenue. That dependence has caught Washington’s attention. In 2025, Donald Trump accused Ireland of taking advantage of U.S. pharma companies.
