The Geely EX2 was China’s best-selling car last year. Now it’s coming to the UK, and it has the Renault 5, Fiat Grande Panda and BYD Dolphin Surf firmly in its sights.
Starting from £20,990, this compact electric hatchback offers up to 214 miles of claimed range, a 375-litre boot, 70-litre frunk and seriously impressive rear-seat space. There’s also a huge touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an eight-year/125,000-mile warranty.
But is the EX2 too sensible-looking to tempt buyers away from the retro Renault 5 and funky Fiat Grande Panda? And can Geely’s rapid move from Chinese bestseller to UK showroom translate into a genuinely great small EV?
