The Volkswagen Polo is back – but this time it’s electric. And after years of increasingly futuristic-looking ID models, VW is bringing back something we’ve all been asking for: proper buttons and switches!
Batch gets behind the wheel of the new all-electric VW ID. Polo to see whether this could be the small EV that brings Volkswagen back to its roots. With up to 280 miles of range, a choice of 37kWh and 52kWh batteries, a 435-litre boot and VW’s new MEB+ platform, it’s going head-to-head with the likes of the Kia EV2, Cupra Raval, Skoda Epiq and Renault 5.
But is the ID. Polo Volkswagen enough? And can it really be the electric successor to one of Europe’s best-loved small cars?
