Remembering Dolly Parton: New Music Fest, Nashville Airport to Be Renamed and More Tributes
Nearly a week after Dolly Parton's death, the tributes continue to roll in from those who knew her best. A star-studded line-up of country stars gathered at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville for a farewell concert on Saturday, with the likes of Carly Pearce, Jelly Roll and Parton's own niece, Jada Star, taking the stage. The musical event came just after Tennessee governor Bill Lee confirmed the state planned to rename Nashville International Airport in her honor. Then, on Monday, Parton's team revealed an all-new fan experience, DollyFest, will take place in 2027 to honor her memory, with gatherings in both Nashville and the UK, on back-to-back weekends. Parton died last Tuesday at the age of 80 following a brief battle with cancer.
