Shabana Mahmood defends 'fair' immigration changes
The government has announced new measures to change the length of time people arriving in the country have to wait before they can apply for settled status.
Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood tells Channel 4 News that her new immigration plans are "fair" after announcing that care workers will be able to get leave to remain after five years, unlike people in other jobs who now face a longer wait of 10 years at least.
The changes have been called a 'U-turn' by the Conservatives, who say they'll end up costing the taxpayer £10 billion.
