Witnesses Recount Christa Gail Pike's Abnormal Failed Execution: 'Nothing Was Normal About Today'
Tennessee officials were unable to put Christa Gail Pike to death for the 1995 murder 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Officials appeared to give Pike two doses of pentobarbital, and soon after Pike could be heard snoring behind the close curtain. It is the second time this year that Tennessee has been unable to carry out an execution.
